Protestors break into MP Roshan Ranasinghe’s home

  • Police fire tear gas at protesters near residences of several MPs
Police have used tear gas to disperse protesters yesterday (4) near the residence of former State Minister and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Minister of Parliament (MP) Roshan Ranasinghe in Polonnaruwa, where protesters had reportedly broken into the MP’s home and destroyed his property.  Police had also resorted to using tear gas to disperse the protesters near the residence of former Minister and SLPP MP Gamini Lokuge in Piliyandala.  Meanwhile, earlier yesterday, the Police had also fired tear gas at protesters who had gathered near former Health Minister and SLPP MP Keheliya Rambukwella’s Kandy residence.  Protests have been reported near the residences of several parliamentarians and former ministers yesterday.
