PSC forbidden from grilling officers currently serving in forces

President Maithripala Sirisena informed the Cabinet that the grilling of security officials by the Special Parliament Select Committee (PSC) cannot be approved by him.

The PSC has been looking into the Easter Sunday attacks and had been questioning suspended officers as well as officers that are currently serving in the security forces.

President Sirisena has stated that officers currently serving in the security forces will not be summoned by the PSC for questioning and that the President will take full responsibility with regards to the safety and security of all officers.
