Ranil Wickremesinghe has become the 8th President of Sri Lanka following the vote in Parliament today (20) with a total of 134 votes. Accordingly, MP Dullas Alahapperuma received 82 votes and MP Anura Kumara Dissanayaka received 03 votes. A total of 223 votes were cast today, while 02 MPs refrained from voting, with 04 votes being invalid. Wickremesinghe is currently delivering his speech as the President of Sri Lanka and vows to work to his utmost best to deliver the nation from the current economic crisis.
