15 Aug 2022

By Dinitha Rathnayake   Popular YouTuber and “GotaGoGama” Activist Rathindu Senarathna, alias “Ratta”, has said that he will lodge a complaint with the Ja Ela Police today (15) regarding the sum of Rs. 5 million that was deposited into his account by an unknown party. Speaking to The Morning he said he was going to make a complaint with the Slave Island Police initially, but that they refused to accept the complaint since his bank account branch is registered at Ja Ela. “So today I will make a complaint about this transfer, and take action from my side. I already informed that bank to hold this amount, which was transferred from another private bank.” In a Facebook post, Ratta said that a complaint has been already lodged with the relevant bank regarding this unsolicited transaction. He further said that he would take legal action regarding this, as he sees this as an attempt to discredit him and those who were involved in the “aragalaya”. Meanwhile, “aragalaya” activists are currently forming people’s councils at the regional level. Although they have left the Galle Face area, the protestors had recently declared that the struggle will continue until the departure of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and that the struggle will not stop until their goals are achieved.
