Retirement age of public service medical officers extended

The compulsory retirement age for all medical officers of all ranks in the public service has been extended to 63 years. The relevant gazette notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Service, Provincial Councils and Local Government yesterday (30). On April 20, the Cabinet decided to amend the Pensions Minute to extend the retirement age of medical officers to 63 years. Previously, the compulsory retirement age for medical officers of all grades in the public service was 60 years, which was extended to 61 last year.
