Rise in COVID patients due public’s failure to follow health guidelines during Avurudu: Army Commander
Army Commander and Head of the National Operations Center for the Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Gen. Shavendra Silva today stated that the public can expect a hike in the Covid patient rate.
He said that this was due to incompliance of public to maintain social distancing and other health guidelines during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season.
He stated this at a special media briefing on the Covid situation in the country today.
He also urged all the citizens of Sri Lanka to remain at home and avoid large public gatherings during the upcoming long weekend due to the rise of Covid patients.
