The 142nd Royal-Thomian Cricket Encounter entitled 'Battle of the Blues' has been postponed, the Joint Match Organizing Committee said. It was scheduled to be played on the 06th, 07th and 08th of May at Hambantota. The Joint Match Organizing Committee stated that this was due to the rise in COVID patients in Sri Lanka. Last year, several attendees of the big match were subject into self-quarantine after a Sri Lankan Airlines first officer who attended the matches tested positive for the virus.
