A person has been arrested with heroin in an operation carried out by the Colombo North Crimes Division in the Mattakkuliya area.
Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a 27 year old man was arrested with 1kg and 71g of heroin.
Police also seized Rs. 289,000 from the car in which the suspect was traveling in, along with the drugs he was in possession of.
The market value of the seized heroin is close to Rs. 11,000,000, the police spokesman said.
In addition, a 25-year-old man was arrested with 50 grams of heroin in a raid carried out in the Ratmalana area.
Also, a 54-year-old man was arrested with 18 grams of heroin in a raid carried out by the Grandpass Police in the Thotalaga area.
Accordingly, the market value of the heroin seized yesterday (28) is close to Rs. 12 million, the police spokesman said.
