Thursday, 31 September, 2021: Sri Lanka will look to put up an improved performance against Bangladesh when the two sides lock horns in the opening fixture of the much-hyped SAFF Football Championship at the National Stadium in Maldives on Friday (1 October).

SAFF Football Championship, which will be held from 1-16 October in at the National Stadium in Maldives, will be exclusively covered by the Morning Sports and its sister paper the Aruna right from the venue in Male itself.

Three foreign talents

Sujan Perera leads Sri Lankan team who are brimming with confidence, specifically after an inspirational performance in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Lebanon and South Korea.

Sri Lanka, also named the Golden Army, will also be bolstered by the inclusion of three foreign talents, Wazeem Razeek, Marvin Hamilton, and Dillon de Silva.
