Discussions are held with the Ministries of Health and Education to reopen all schools in the Western Province on 15 February, stated Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof. Kapila Perera.
A discussion is to be held on the 28th or 29th of January with the health authorities to determine the reopening of schools.
The Western Province has 1,576 schools within 11 educational zones, and 79,000 students are scheduled to sit for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination in March.
Accordingly, classes for Grade 11 students in 907 schools in the Western Province will be held from Monday, according to Minister of Education G. L. Pieris.
