Second COVID-19 patient cremated

The second Sri Lankan patient who died of COVID-19 was cremated yesterday at the public cemetery of the Negombo Municipal Council. The deceased was a 64-year-old male from Kochchikade, Negombo. He was initially admitted to a private hospital in Negombo before being transferred to the District General Hospital Negombo after showing symptoms of Coronavirus. The Quarantine Act stipulates that cremation should be carried out within 24 hours. The family members and some of the houses in the neighborhood have been subject to quarantine.
