Seven-member committee appointed to probe tense situation in Parliament yesterday

Sri Lanka’s Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said a seven-member committee will be appointed to investigate the tense situation which occurred at the parliament chamber yesterday  (21).

The Parliamentary proceedings yesterday (21) were adjourned for ten minutes following a tense situation that erupted in the premises.

Opposition Ministers presented themselves at Parliament wearing black in commemoration of the Easter Sunday Attacks.

They presented posters of Easter Sunday attackers at the Parliament, following which proceedings were adjourned by the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene for ten minutes.
