Several political parties are to finalize their national list nominees today.
At the recently concluded Parliamentary election, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) won 17 National List seats while Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) was able to secure 7 seats.
The Jathika Jana Balawewa (JJB), United National Party (UNP), Our Power of People Party (OPPP), llankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK), and Ahila Ilankai Thamil Congress (AITC) secured one National List seat each.
The SLPP, OPPP, and ITAK have already submitted their nominations to the Election commission.
SJB and JJB will take the final decision on National List seats today.
UNP is currently having a discussion at the Sirikotha - UNP Headquarters over the whom it will nominate for the National List sea.
The Elections Commission has requested relevant parties to submit their National List nominees before the 14th of August.
