Shortage of ICU beds for COVID patients: Colombo General Hospital

Cardiologist at the Colombo General Hospital Dr. Gotabhaya Ranasinghe said that there is a shortage of intensive care units to treat patients suffering from Covid. He said this while participating in the Ada Derana BIG FOCUS program. "There are intensive care beds for heart patients. Now we are going to convert them to treat Covid patients as well," said Dr. Gotabhaya Ranasinghe, Cardiologist, Cardiology Unit, Colombo National Hospital. Dr. Pradeep de Silva, President of the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, who also participated in the program, said, "The question now is whether there are intensive care beds that are exclusively for Covid patients."
