SJB reveals rejected fertiliser en-route to Sri Lanka

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has revealed that the rejected fertiliser from China is still en-route to Sri Lanka, and that the ship carrying the fertiliser has not turned back.

SJB MP Ashok Abeysinghe made this revelation during a media brief held yesterday (18).

“That ship is on the way to Sri Lanka. It has been 12 days and the ship is on the way. The ship is carrying the stock of fertiliser that was rejected, and the Chinese Government is now trying to force our Government to accept this stock of fertiliser,” said Abeysinghe.

He further went on to say that if this fertiliser is brought into the country, cultivations would face a serious threat which would in return affect the harvest.
