SLAF to launch inaugural Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup 2022

The Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses, along with the generous support of SLT-Mobitel as the exclusive main sponsor, will host the inaugural Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament 2022, the first inter-club golf tournament, which is projected to be an annual highlight of the golfing calendar. The tournament will be held on 4 and 5 November, at the picturesque settings of China Bay, close to the harbour city of Trincomalee. This new tournament has been organised to uplift the sport of golf in Sri Lanka, which saw a decline in the past few years due to the pandemic and other national challenges. Since this is a team-based tournament, it will boost inter-club friendship and camaraderie, and of course, create some friendly competition.  The tournament consists of 15 member teams from the four clubs that will play for the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Trophy, while approximately 15 to 20 golfers are expected to play, and in the open tournament called the Eagles’ Q-Cup Open, the golfers will play as individuals to win the Open Title. The tournament will be played in Stableford Style and the top ten scorecards in each team will be considered for the final result. A minimum number of two female golfers must play in each team. The tournament will conclude with the awards ceremony scheduled to be held on 5 November. The first edition of the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup is exclusively sponsored by SLT-Mobitel, who has partnered with the Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses to support the Quadrangle Golf Tournament 2022. Registrations will close on 28 October 2022 and the tournament is well on its way to be another board event of the golfing calendar.
