The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has authorized licensed foreign employment agencies to recruit workers for technical services in Japan Accordingly, the maximum fee that can be charged from a qualified employee recruited for the relevant professions is only Rs. 350,000. SLBFE has notified that it is illegal to charge more than the maximum fee that can be charged by an employer and that legal action will be taken against employment agents who charge higher fees, resulting in license termination.
