SLPP MP suggests building a zoo on a man-made island in the North
Backing the suggestion made previously by MP Diana Gamage to grow marijuana as an economical crop, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Uddika Premarathna added that building a zoo on a man made island in the North would generate revenue for Sri Lanka.
He made this statement in Parliament yesterday (25).
“Sri Lanka requires a masterplan for the next 20 to 30 years which would see all successive governments follow one process. We could build a zoo on a man made island where animals can roam free rather than being imprisoned. It will be useful to generate money to Sri Lanka,” he said.
He also added that the idea of the zoo would be the first of its kind, and will attract a lot of foreigners as well.
Premarathna also said that if MP Gamage’s proposal, along with his, was taken into consideration, Sri Lanka would achieve success.
Further, Premarathna stated that with the creation of a paradise island in the North, it could be added to the world record books for its splendor.
