SLSI is protecting fraudulent businessmen: Omalpe Sobitha Thera

Omalpe Sobhitha Thera says that the staff including the director of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) have taken steps to protect the fraudulent businessmen who imported unrefined oil and other foods so far.

He says that the SLSI is not working to protect the people of the country.

This was stated by Ven. Omalpe Sobhitha Thera at a media briefing held in Colombo.

He further said, “Although the objective of the SLSI is good, it has become clear that these officials are committed to protecting the crooked businessmen, no matter if the people who work there are dead or sick. Therefore, officials who engage in such corrupt, short-sighted and unprincipled activities should be sacked immediately. In addition, those responsible for the large scale damage done so far should be punished. ”

He further said that in order to bring justice to the victims of the Easter attacks, all those involved in the Easter attacks should be punished without discrimination.
