Special Cabinet meeting today

A special Cabinet meeting has been scheduled at 3 :00 p.m today Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs John Amaratunga said. However Amaratunga was unaware about what will be discussed at the meeting. Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, Ravi Karunanayake speaking to The Sunday Morning said the discussion of any topic including the abolition of the Executive Presidency was a possibility. The holding of a special Cabinet meeting was decided during an early morning meeting held between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today , The Sunday Morning learns. According to news reports the Cabinet meeting has been called to discuss about abolishing the Executive Presidency.
