A special investigation has been launched with the help of CID officials to find those who are spreading false propaganda about the Moderna vaccine on social media.
Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the investigations were initiated following a complaint lodged by the Forensic Medical Officer of the Kandy General Hospital.
The doctor has also stated in the complaint that there are some false rumors circulating on social media stating that the Moderna vaccine is harmful to the body and that it contains nanotechnology.
The doctor has stated that the Moderna vaccine is being given to the people in the Central Province these days and that such false propaganda is being carried out with the intention of undermining the public's trust in the vaccine.
The Kandy HQI is conducting a special investigation under the supervision of the Kandy SSP.
