Sri Lankan food tops list of BBC Good Food Trends for 2019
According to BBC Good Food trends report, amongst other trends, The Sri Lankan food scene has been voted number 1 as an up and coming food trend for 2019.
BBC’s Good Food report has presented that the majority of the world population are looking towards healthy living, a meat free diet and new cuisines.
What has helped Sri Lanka’s rise to the top has been the huge demand for curry as Britain’s most popular take-away food in the recent past.
‘Restaurants such as London’s Hoppers, mini chain The Coconut Tree and the success of the M&S Taste Asia range have put Sri Lankan food on the brink of a breakthrough’ is what the report had to say.
