SriLankan brings 101 students stranded in India

A SriLankan special flight UL 146 carrying 101 students from India landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) a short-while ago. The group of Sri Lankan students are from Amritsar, India. Two more special flights, both on 24 April, will transport 117 Sri Lankans from Coimbatore, India on flight UL 194 and 93 more from Kathmandu, Nepal on UL 1425. 113 Sri Lankan students were repatriated from Pakistan on Tuesday(21). The students were stranded in Lahore and Karachi amid the coronavirus outbreak. Following their arrival, the group was directed quarantine centers. Minister of Tourism and Aviation Prasanna Ranatunga on Monday (20) said 433 Sri Lankans stranded in India, Pakistan, and Nepal will be flown back to the country through special flights between 21-24 April following numerous requests made by Sri Lankan students stranded in India, Pakistan, and Nepal after airports were closed due to Covid-19.
