SSP Imesha Muthumala appointed first female Deputy Director of CID

  With the approval of the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, SSP Imesha Muthumala has been appointed to the post of the Deputy Director of the CID. She is the first female to be appointed to this post. She joined the Police Service on 03.11.2007 as an Apprentice Assistant Superintendent of Police and has been in service for 14 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ruhuna and a Law Degree from the Open University. She also taught Crisis Management at the Hawaii Police Training Institute in the United States, the FBI's Anti - Money Laundering Course in Bangkok, Thailand, the Community Policing Course at the Royal Police Academy in Malaysia, and the Internet Police Course at the Hyderabad Police Academy. She has also served in the Nugegoda Division, the CID and the Police Clearance Report Unit, according to the Police Headquarters.
