Sunny Side Up: Chandima gives reality check

A governing party parliamentarian last week spoke of the real, practical issues faced by the public, and called on the Government to understand and address these issues.

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Galle District MP Chandima Weerakkody claimed that people in the villages were stuck in their houses after losing their income and were unable to feed their families.

Weerakkody noted that at a time when people are unable to consume three square meals, we should not speak about how some are unable to go for walks on proposed walking/jogging tracks.

The MP noted that there needs to be a proper understanding of priorities as a government, which should be sensitive to the people’s needs.
