Sunny Side Up: Commemoration in the House

23 May 2021

Eight legislators of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) had last Tuesday (18) commemorated those who were killed in the North during the final stages of the war, by lighting candles in Parliament.  This is reportedly the first time such a commemoration of those killed during the war was held in Parliament.  This commemoration had been held in the office room allocated for the TNA at the parliamentary complex.  After lighting the candles, the parliamentarians observed two minutes of silence.  MPs M.A. Sumanthiran, Shanakiyan Rasamanikkam, Selvam Adaikalanathan, Dharmaingam Siddharthan, and several others had participated in the event.  The TNA MPs were also dressed in black attire in Parliament last Tuesday.
