Sunny Side Up: Ravi’s grievance

Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake recently expressed his disappointment at the manner in which the probe on the controversial Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam was handled.

Karunanayake had taken up this issue at a recent meeting of the United National Party (UNP) Working Committee.

He had questioned as to why the criticism levelled against him, UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Arjun Aloysius had not been directed towards MP Kabir Hashim.

Karunanayake had pointed out that Hashim, at the time, was the minister in charge of the state banks, but his name has been left out of the probe.

Hashim is at present an active member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), led by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
