A group of seven Muslim parliamentarians representing the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC), who had voted in favour of government legislation since the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, were now feeling destitute, it is learnt.
The Muslim MPs are now facing difficulties in visiting their constituencies, as their supporters had expressed their displeasure at the failure of these MPs to either stand united with the Opposition or earn the respect of the Government, it is also learnt.
