‘Kaputas’ continue to fly high in social media and the story behind the viral video clip is now making its way out.
A video clip of a part of a media interview by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa where he states ‘kaputas go have hit the plane’ went viral last week and continues to be the source of many social media posts and memes.
However, it is now learnt that the interview from which the video clip was extracted was given by Rajapaksa during the tenure of President Mahinda Rajapaksa between 2010 and 2015. Basil served as the Minister of Economic Development at the time.
According to sources, the interview is believed to have been one given by Basil in 2013 on the post-war development programme.
