A suspect was arrested yesterday in Yakkala area in Gampaha district for illegally assembling a motor vehicle, stated Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
He revealed that the suspect was also carrying 12 vehicle number plates.
He iterated that it was illegal to make or produce number plates other than those issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.
The suspect has been produced in the Gampaha Magistrate Court and further investigations are underway.
