A 29 year old male has been arrested in Kinniya with a foreign-manufactured hand grenade.
The Morning contact Police Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police (SPP) Nihal Thalduwa who confirmed that the 29 year old suspect was a resident of the Puvarasantivu area in Kinniya and residents of the area had tipped the police regarding the illegal possession, to which the police responded immediately.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Trincomalee Magistrates Court today (20).
