The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the Ports Authority trade unions will be going on a strike and severe measures will be taken if the Government proceeds with the LNG deal, says Secretary to the CEB United Trade Union Alliance Ranjan Jayalal.
He made this statement during a media brief yesterday (05).
"We have decided to go on a strike, and the dates will be announced soon. The dates depend on the Government's conduct. After tomorrow, we will adopt several other measures together with the people if the Government doesn't reveal the truth on the LNG deal and we will resort to severe measures," said Jayalal.
He added that no one can stop the measures that will be taken in the future and neither the people who have taken to the streets.
