The Minister of Education, Prof G L Peiris announced today (19) that all Sri Lankan Universities will reopen for academic activities on the 27th of this month.
He further stated that even though all health guidelines will be followed, there is an issue with regard to opening hostels. Due to this, only third year and fourth year students will be brought in at the start. Classes for first year and second year students are expected to commence afterwards.
Additionally, the minister mentioned that all necessary arrangements required to conduct university examinations have been organized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
