UNP leadership should be moved in a new direction: Navin

28 Jan 2021

The leadership of the United National Party (UNP) should be moved in a new direction, party member and former MP Navin Dissanayake said today. Mr. Dissanayake earlier resigned from his National Organizer post of the UNP saying the party reforms that took place recently were not up to the expected level. "I will continue to be a party member and a member of the Working Committee. People expect a change in the party leadership. Following the defeat at the last General Election, Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said he would resign from the post," he said. Former MP Arjuna Ranatunga also expressed same sentiments and added that he would not accept the Senior Vice President post of the UNP.
