The wife of Veddah Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo passed away last night while receiving treatment at the Peradeniya hospital.
Earlier, The Morning reported that 44 members of the Dambana Adivasi village, situated close to the Mahiyanganaya town in the Badulla District, have contracted the Covid-19 virus.
Speaking to The Morning, Wimalaratna Attho confirmed that these 44 members of the Dambana Adivasi village include the Veddah Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo’s wife.
The Chief’s wife was admitted to hospital as she also had certain other ailments, the rest of the tribe was undergoing treatment at their respective homes.
