Newly elected parliamentarian, former Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran today (20) made a political statement during his speech to congratulate the newly appointed Speaker of the ninth parliament, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
Making his maiden speech in the House, Wigneswaran raised the issues faced by the people in the North and East Provinces and called for the recognition of the Tamil people’s rights.
He took only a few minutes to congratulate the new Speaker.
Wigneswaran observed that the Tamil people have a right to self determination.
He also made a reference in Sinhala, “kala kala de pala pala de” (what goes around comes around).
